On an individual and collective level, we’re all undergoing a profound transformation that most people don’t realize is occurring. We stand on the cusp of a new era, and various signs point to the inevitable and ongoing destruction of our current way of being.

This destruction will lead us all to make some intense changes to the way we’ve lived our lives, and the transformative process has to be lived out individually before it can become apparent in the world.

It’s always emphasized in the conscious community that we have to find our own way, and we can’t rely solely on what other people say if we want to spiritually grow.
There are a lot of gurus available to help show the way, and while there’s nothing wrong with relying on them to a healthy extent, we also have to be willing to interpret spirit in our own way.

If we don’t, we might end up with perspectives or philosophies we don’t resonate with, in which case we’ll know we need to stop wholly investing ourselves in the guru of our choice and look deep within to find our own perspective on life and spirituality.

Spiritual evolution is arguably the most difficult thing we’ll ever do, but it’s easier when we rely on someone like a guru. It can give us the sense that we have less of a responsibility for our evolution, and if we’re ever stumped about something, we can call on our teacher or crack open the spiritual texts.

It’s a big week, folks, as we are moving towards one of the most powerful days of the year: Friday, March 20th, which sees a new moon ‘supermoon’ total solar eclipse and the spring equinox falling on the same day. On this day, we will witness a rare astronomical event which has the potential to stir up some very powerful energetic shifts for our personal and collective transformations.

ASTRONOMICAL SIGNIFICANCE

Supermoon

This moon is called a ‘supermoon’ because it is at the closet point to the earth in its orbit (known as perigee), only about 222,192 miles away (357,584 kilometers). But, the moon will not be visible to Earth because it is a new moon. There will be a total six supermoons in 2015: Two have already happened, Friday marks number three, and the remaining three will occur in August, September, and October. September 28th’s supermoon will actually be the closest of the year, and will coincide with a lunar eclipse.

We sometimes demonize hard work that uses the mind more than the heart or spirit, because we tend to convince ourselves our spiritual evolution should be all fun and no work.

Similarly, some of us have trouble putting our work down and enjoying life, because we convince ourselves that working hard is the only purpose of our existence on earth.
Instead of making ourselves miserable or playing instead of working, we can employ a healthy middle ground between working and having fun.

If we want to emotionally survive in this world, we’ll want to learn to roll with the punches and let things go. Things will happen each day that we’d rather ignore or hide from, and the best thing we can do is embrace them and ask ourselves how we can solve the problems they’ve presented.

Or, we can hide away and hate the world for the challenges it gives us. It’s easy to stay rooted in our own negativity, which can pop up at random times over silly things that, when we look back on, we wonder why we reacted so strongly to, but happiness will seem further and further away if we do.

2015 is here, and with each New Year we meet, we’re usually compelled to ask what we want to do differently to make it more enjoyable and fulfilling than the last. Personally, my goals for 2015 are to step into a greater open-mindedness (and openheartedness), make spirit a more consistent part of my life and let the love flow to everyone who crosses my path.

I mentioned in a previous article that I’m ready to step into a more refined, authentic version of myself who can express love freely and creatively flow with no problems. I’m ready for the spiritual aspects of life to reveal themselves to a greater degree, and I’m ready to explore my consciousness even more than I have so far.

When you’re willing to stay as open and receptive to the ‘voice’ of spirit as you can, you’ll find it much easier to use this voice to sharpen and enhance the works you present to the rest of the conscious community.

When we open up and let the worries, concerns and judgments of the mind fade away, we open ourselves to the influence of the higher self – an infinite entity who we’ve been gifted by even higher aspects of our consciousness who wanted to give us some assistance along our growth and evolution.

We can all connect with the higher self, and all that’s required is to continuously empty the mind and open up to the flowing energies and expressions of the heart. The heart will also need to be opened in a sense, because it’s through the heart (and subsequently, the intuition) that we connect with the higher self.

Any belief system can cause us to give our power away, and beyond its more sensationalistic aspects, I don’t think there’s anything about the ‘new age’ movement that sets it apart from other belief systems or disempowers the seekers who resonate with it.

Every belief system has empowered and disempowered its followers at times, and this is becausewe determine the progress we make, no matter what beliefs or concepts we advocate.

Yes, the ‘new age’ movement (and everything that comes with it) could coerce a seeker to give their power away to apparent higher-dimensional entities, but so can any other belief system.

In our society, the mind’s generally seen as a good thing. Gaining knowledge is very important, and what other way to do so than to use the mind and its practically infinite capabilities?

I have nothing against the mind, and neither do the spiritual teachers we’ll hear from here. Like them, I recognize that the mind can be and is a very important instrument for the expression of consciousness and the gaining of knowledge, and it can take us very far if we know how to use it.

However, amidst our quest for answers to the secrets of our existence, humanity has mistakenly filled our heads with so much knowledge of our physical reality that we’ve forgotten about the greater reality that exists beyond our surface perception.

If the conscious community wants to come together, I think we’ll have to see that we don’t all have the same beliefs. We all empower different concepts, and some of us empower things that don’t resonate one bit with others.

If we want to thrive as a community, I think we’ll have to accept our differences in opinion/belief and love each other despite them. We aren’t all going to agree on the same things, and sometimes, the best thing we can do when we’re in the midst of a disagreement is to step back and allow the other person their opinion while still embracing ours.

A person’s anger, hatred or judgment expresses more about them than the person they choose to judge or be angry with, and we don’t want any of you to feel as if you should give in to the hatred and anger that are routinely expressed on your planet by waves of sous who have yet to awaken to the loving vibrations you can now feel and access.

Much of humanity has been entrenched in the lower vibrations for a very long amount of your fading concept of time, and as such, many soul’s perspectives have become hardened and they may, at times, choose to take this hardness out on others for reasons that seem justifiable at the time.

Here, I’d like to look at the sacred Self; the soul Self; the Atman; whatever you want to call the omnipotent consciousness that exists within, which we can (and perhaps should) embrace. The sacred Self (or simply ‘the Self’) is an aspect of Source, and we’ll have to transcend the influence of the ego if we want to open up to it.

The ego, which is a program of the otherwise benevolent mind, will keep us from discovering and embracing the Self if we allow it, and given that we have a lot of work to do to change the defunct manner in which our planet’s run, transcending the ego is among the best things we can do for ourselves and the people around us.
